I use these two plants to test nutrient solutions in my indoor garden. They're not that different from some other similarly priced ones I've tried, but they provide accurate readings and are easy to use. I usually kind of drop them or spoil them, so I consider them a one-time use kind of thing.

I give it 4 stars considering it comes with a TDS meter. I've read that the pH meter is already factory calibrated, but when I try to test the pH for specific bodies of water, they didn't read the pH setting correctly, so hey, maybe it's just me, right I should have taken a more expensive meter. Arrived quickly and well packaged. Each has their own cases, which is nice, and instructions on how to recalibrate them in case something weird knocks them off. They are very accurate and use them almost daily to check nutrient levels and water quality. Very good and well-made instruments at a very good price. Hell they're so cheap I think I've already gotten my money's worth from them!

Even a beginner like me could use it very easily. I had some water in the PH meter when I first tried to flush it but I took the batteries out and let it dry completely and after that it seemed to work. The TDS meter seemed to work great for testing tap water, Brita filtered water, reverse osmosis water and nutrient solution in one of my hydroponic buckets. These meters aren't built for durability and water resistance, but the price is right.

This ph pen cannot be trusted. I calibrated it and it's still off by 15-20 points or more. I put my 8 year old red Hanna pen in a 4.01 solution with this ph pen and the Hanna pen read 4.00 but this ph pen read 3.83 even after I calibrated it have. . I am a commercial grower, pH and total dissolved solids are very important. I was looking for an inexpensive way to provide each of my employees with their own tester set. I ordered several different testers and compared them to the Blue Lab testers I use. While I saw no difference when testing cheaper pH testers in parallel, this was not the case when comparing ppm and EC testers. This instrument tested the same as the blue lab tester EVERY time. The TDS meter is great. PH meter. I do not know. I had to calibrate right out of the box. Readings seemed off. Compared to the ph indicator, the meter readings were significantly higher than in the indicator test. Compared several times to confirm. I calibrated with the supplied solution mix. It seems to be right after. The only thing is that my confidence in future readings is not very high. I need to order a calibrated grout mix to have on hand. pH Meter; as described, well calibrated. After 30 days of daily use it was 0.8 and I don't store it in potassium chloride. Not sure if that's the reason, but remember to calibrate often as you would with any Ph.
