Great addition to a home automation project

I have used this relay to build a sofa automation. This PI hat made the job a lot easier than expected. It runs on GPIO pins, so just use the pin library and apply power. Everything is easy. My only complaint is that the leftmost connector of the leftmost relay and the rightmost connector of the rightmost relay are partially covered by the board standoffs. This isn't a problem for me, but make sure you have some flex in your harness to maneuver these obstacles.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • For a long time

It works as advertised

I gave it a 5 for easy to use but only because I'm familiar with Python. For those who don't, this can be a bit of a problem. To be honest I only needed one relay, but I went with this one anyway because it's installed in the robot and I could end up finding a use for the other three relays. The bottom line is that it works, everything is fine, I would buy again if necessary

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Reliability

Nice relay specifically for the Raspberry Pi.

I have used other 4 channel relays with my Raspberry Pi before but none of these mount directly to the Pi. This format eliminates the jumpers between the Pi and the relay board. I love that the board comes with gaskets, nuts and bolts to attach it to the Pi and protect the GPIO pins on the Pi from unnecessary pressure or adjustments. As a previous reviewer said, my only complaint is that you don't have access to the unused GPIO pins on the Pi board (although you can connect to exposed solder…

Great simplicity for those who only need relays

This board is really good if all you need for a raspberry is a relay because it blocks all pins in the GPIO header. Of course, not all pins are used. So if you want to use other pins, you have to solder the wires to the board, which defeats the simplicity.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Minor problems

i have this wire

I don't know as there are different versions but the GPIOs don't match the online documentation when found. The one I have is hooked up like this. GPIO 4 - Relay 1 GPIO 22 - Relay 2 GPIO 6 - Relay 3 GPIO 26 - Relay 4. I'm a bit frustrated, I had to try all combinations to figure it out.

Pros
  • Not just usable for its intended purpose
Cons
  • I don't have much dislike for it, all fine

Happy! It works as advertised.

As mentioned before, the following relay GPIO card worked great for me: gpio 4 is relay 1 gpio 22 is relay 2 gpio 6 is relay 3 gpio 26 is relay 4 others too have mentioned that the relay controller mounting hardware doesn't quite fit the board (leaves small gaps, see attached pictures), but it still works. Another thing I want to mention is that you need to know the height of the heatsink you have on the PI processor. . If the heatsink is too high, it will prevent the relay controller from…

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I'll be silent

Works great as advertised

I wanted to leave a review here because I've read a number of reviews that were dissatisfied at the documentation level. In fact there is no documentation on the box, just a relay module. However, I saw a QR code on the back of the box, so I scanned it and opened the website it pointed to. Not only did this give me all the documentation I could want, it also gave me code examples and links to places to download more! I just used the basic sample code from the website and (after installing the…

Reliable little accessory

Pros: * decent price * feature seems to work as advertised. The documentation is only useful if you use WiringPi.Cons: * The contact header is not passed through. I ended up adding another pass-through connector at the bottom for some distance and added longer threaded posts to compensate. * PCB traces for relay contacts are visible on the underside of the PCB; This is not very safe if you want to use the mains voltage control board (120VAC)! I added a layer of Kapton tape to the bottom to…

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Very useful and well thought out product

I needed a way to control some of the Raspberry Pi's heating elements and fans to circulate warm air around my 3D printer. This board was just a ticket. It's well thought out for the most part and has a lot of good design features. Pros: - 5V operation is convenient as it matches the Raspberry Pi itself. - The compact layout fits perfectly in the airspace above the Raspberry Pi. - Relay races are very powerful. Many competitors have much lower contact current ratings. - LED indicators are a…
