Electronics were fine, broken key fob on our 2 year old trailers. The total replacement time for both is 10 minutes, the total cost is about $15, very easy to complete, and they are the same as dealer's OEM spare parts. (When open, insert new batteries and don't forget to replace the cut key of the old key fob and insert it into the new one. Just throw away the resulting blanks.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • No automatic

ZERO STARS - Interior

LOOKS LIKE THE ORIGINAL BUT THE SNAP BUTTONS ARE ARTIFICIAL. The spring is too big making it difficult for batteries to stay in place and it doesn't come with an insulating label that runs between both batteries. Keep my advice, I know the factory unit is expensive. I worked with my original key fob and was able to get it fully functional.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Everything is great

2015 Ford F150 replacement

Received the day after ordering and got what I expected. Looks exactly like the original that came with my 2015 F150 without the Ford logo on the back. There are no instructions so be careful how you take apart the original and as it didn't come with a small plastic disc separating the two batteries I used my original. Putting it together wasn't easy, but once it was aligned and slid into place, everything worked as it should. As both of my originals are broken in the key holder I will be…

Ok but not great! Cheaper than the alternative

Exchange is not as easy as I thought. It took over 30 minutes and multiple attempts to put everything back together (along with a lot of patience). I had to flatten the 2 prong metal part that contacts the battery and add a small piece of foam tape to make all the buttons work. After that it was much easier to pack. The front and middle parts were replaced, but managed to keep the rear end with the Ford logo. Definitely cheaper than a complete replacement. The biggest disadvantage is when the…

Didn't fit right!

The original key fob case tabs for my 2015 F150 broke and the case wouldn't hold together. Ordered as a replacement for the original case. This skin failed to build after replacing the original shell internals with this one. I had to match the back (the one with the Ford logo) with the front (the part with the buttons) to make it work. Still not connecting very well, but works for now. Not sure how long that will take. All the parts look the same as the original but for some reason they don't…

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Not easy to close and some items seemed to be missing. Continue reading.

BUYER WARNING! In many ways, this substitute is NONE. Some parts (functions) are missing. The original had a white pad that was needed to press the keys (see picture). The right one is the original, the left one is a replacement (without the little white trim). There is also no seal between the batteries. While tying to insert the batteries, one of the battery clips in the NEW key fob fell apart. I had to reattach it with super glue but it stuck very poorly. This replacement key fob was very…

  • Handsfree

  • Very expensive

Amazing value for money Interior

Best value for money only if you are in a situation where you only need a plastic case. My key fob was quite worn from a couple of bad falls and was literally taped together, but the interior was in good condition. The complexity of the installation depends on your experience in installing key fobs. My old one fell apart so much I learned how to put it back together so swapping everything out was pretty easy. Just remember that if you've never put your keychain back together, you might not find
