Key replacement Ford Edge 2014

Before buying, make sure you have a place to cut the blank key if necessary. Not all key making locations have new double-edged key making machines.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Better than going to the dealer

Easy to fix. Take the chip from the broken key and insert it into this blank. No programming required. No need for a dealer. The best place to carve a key is at a locksmith's. Takes less than 5 minutes. HDepot, Lowes, Big Locksmiths, etc. only carve the keys they sell. They will try to get at least $50 from you. One guy even said that this blank would break his cutter. A great alternative that should actually be the norm.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are problems

Perfect product! Excellent quality!

Absolutely perfect. The only thing that worries me is that the back is a bit difficult to put on and take off, but I only have to deal with it every few years to replace the battery! **When replacing the electronics, make sure that there is a metal plug attached to the old housing, which you must also remove. Easy to miss, but impossible without! Overall a great product and excellent quality. I saved 150€ at the dealer!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Has been damaged

Best solution for broken key shells.

I drive a 2013 Ford Expedition Limited. I bought it to save some money. I was nervous enough to disassemble the key to get to the remote, but managed to do it. I took the blank key to my local hardware store and they cut it out for me. I spent a total of $8.50 to fix my key. The local locksmith charges $200. It works better than my Ford factory key. The body of the remote looks like solid plastic and is noticeably thicker. My only complaints are that my key arrived with the small required metal

  • Free for educational purposes

Not easy to do best in interior

I actually just wanted to replace the rubber part that has lock, unlock, panic and trunk buttons. I figured I could just replace the rubber in the original key. Unfortunately disassembling the original key turned into a nightmare and it was badly damaged when I tried to open it. Be warned. The original key may be difficult to open. I ended up using the new key exactly as described and transferring all the internals from the original to the replacement. Luckily all parts worked and my 2012…

Pros
  • very good price
Cons
  • boring packaging
