I took the fob to my local locksmith who had no trouble cutting the key and inserting the original chip into the new fob. It later saved me $300 instead of going to the dealership who would spend $360 on a new EOM key fob with a chip. Has been working without problems for a few weeks now.

After my standard model turned too far and broke it was nice to find a replacement. After taking my first key to a local retailer to have the innards replaced and it re-cut, it feels like a whole new experience that can handle a few years of stress.

The hardest part was getting the chip out of the old key fob. I had to damage the old key to remove the whole chip. After that I was able to easily transfer the electronics to the new key. I found a local locksmith who cut the key for only $4. I have a Rav4 with no trunk. This particular key is for a car with a truck as it has a button to open it. Didn't notice until I got the key, my fault. It even worked with the trunk button in my app.

I lost the buttons and rubber grommet for my 2011 Camry key (long story don't ask). I bought this hoping it would work as I still had a working internal electronic transmitter. Well, before going through the process of replacing the new key, I placed the new key's buttons and seal into the original key and they fitted! Hooray. The key fob works and I now have a spare key case if needed. FYI, the plastic case isn't as shiny or as strong as the OEM key. There is no Toyota logo on the back…

I needed to replace the original key fob on my 2007 Toyota Camry. The case cracked right where the metal key shank was molded into the key fob case. This keychain case worked great! I took my time cutting the transponder chip out of my old key fob case and inserting it into the slot in the new case.
