🐠 Kikkerland Lightwood Fish Corkscrew: Effortlessly Open Bottles with Style Review

Sweet, sweet, sweet. Was on a friends new boat and needed a "church key" to open the lid of my beer. Not finding it on board we had to improvise and use a flathead screwdriver! When we got back I went straight to Revain to find the right bottle opener and corkscrew combo. Thought the fish design and stainless steel would be perfect for his boat. Ordered and sent straight to a friend's house. They called to say they loved it and were impressed with the quality.

I bought this product as a gift and if the holiday wasn't so close I would return it. Overall, the style is cute and great for a man or woman, and it's fully functional and high quality. (The metal parts are actually metal and not metal coated plastic, which is more common than you might think!) Unfortunately the item arrived completely separate from the packaging and could not be reassembled to look pristine. I hated giving in this state but still in a gift basket. When I first received this corkscrew, I was very pleased with its quality. It's a very durable piece with a cool, whimsical touch that suits my style. However, in a real application, the corkscrew did not work. It was extremely difficult to align the rim with the neck of the wine bottle to pull out the cork and as a result the corkscrew kept slipping off the rim.
