I was pleasantly surprised by this star. I had to buy one quickly as my old one didn't work (the other type). There is enough light on this star, and it fits on the top of the tree without tumbling. I don't use the blink function as they seem to blink too fast. The brown color of rattan looks very natural on wood without lighting. I hope it lasts longer than my last star. The one I have is battery powered and not USB.

I think I misread this - I must have missed the 'do it yourself' part of the description! Ouch! Be prepared to wrap 16 feet of thin, tangle-free wire around the star. It's also not attached to the base at all, just dangling from it. But for $12 I'll wire and glue the base. has different lighting settings. Some are beautiful. 2 stars for the work and the presence of all parts. Was looking for a new tree star and thought it would be a good one. Had not. Power is supplied via the USB port, which must be connected to the USB Edison adapter (home plug). It does not remember its last setting. So when you find a setting you like, you have to use the remote to find it every time. Also in this sense. The settings all flash. No slow flickering.

Hmm, a bit disappointed, very nice village star. but I have mixed feelings about battery powered star attachments. This little thing eats batteries. This requires 3 AA batteries. A few tiny LED lights wrapped around a wooden star shouldn't drain that many batteries in a season. 3x batteries changed. This would be a better product if it had an outlet instead of batteries. For stability, remove the metal ring holding the star and simply wrap some branches around the star.

I like this idea as my tree doesn't have the ability to connect the top. However, the cord is too short and I had to use an unsightly extension on a 7.5ft tree. I completely overlooked the part where you have to wind the headlights yourself. If you've ever looked into fairy lights, you know what a fun mess this is. :/ Buy an already made topper for the same money. Also, the base is ruffled so that the topper doesn't stay inside. Awesome treetop! I really love this star. After about a week of use. Pros/Cons: (Doesn't count on/off as a setting) Pros: Looks very classic and better in person. Very light and many light settings. 8 settings plus dimmer! Remote control (8 settings + dimmer) and 1 button on plug that toggles through 8 settings (no dimmer). Did I mention dimmers! Cons: Only light branches and garlands. 8 settings I don't want to use because they are VERY noticeable and might give someone a fit. Oddly enough…
