Well, it's a really interesting instrument, there is a stable output (20.7 at solar midnight - 19.7 at sunset). Excellent backup power but needs an additional USB converter like the ZY12PDN.

I've had two days of testing and I have to say I'm very impressed. Even with tinted windows, it was able to pump 7 watts of power into my spare battery. Very good build quality. I will probably buy another one.

You need a way to keep your car battery charged and ready to go. I chose a solar panel to avoid running wires to the outlet. I hooked this up to my car's battery with the panel on the inside under the rear window and I haven't had a dead battery since.

I live in the desert and don't use my Jeep very much in the summer. The battery will run out if not used for a few months. I just leave it plugged into the cigarette lighter and the battery stays charged. Why didn't I think of that sooner?

I put it on my truck visor and when I need it to charge I just drop it. It can sit for weeks and not drain the battery. Much easier than pulling a cable like a battery tender. He's sitting in the sun so I'm sure that helps.

The car sat for 3 weeks and started immediately. I put a meter on it and it's ready for 19V when the sun comes out. That's cool. I wish it had a smart charger to turn it off, but I'm blown away. I'll get one for each boat too.

You should know that I'm just starting to play with solar panels. I bought this small panel (about the size of a standard PC keyboard), a battery, and a few other things so I can run some battery powered fans I bought for emergencies a while back. I'm still working on my little project, but this little panel runs fine with a standard PC fan, so I know it'll charge my little battery.
