End pieces and mounting plates are cast from heavy gauge brass. The tube isn't magnetic, so I'm assuming it's brass as well. Looks nice. However, the finish is not true copper and is not oxidized oil bronze. A similar color with no copper reflections but sprayed with some kind of paint.

This handrail is rock solid! I'm a tall guy (300lbs and disabled) so I was very concerned about the quality of this item. He not only met all of my expectations, he exceeded them. Even the tiler I installed said he had never seen a tile so well done and wanted brand and product information for future jobs he was working on.
