Don't buy this for your bird

I've had this lovely birdhouse for a few months now and the birds seem to love it. I have been very happy with my purchase - so far. Over time, our lovebirds began to burrow into the lining of this small nest, and today one of them got tangled up in the rope that is at the bottom of the carpet - everything is tangled, and its small claws are now swollen. I have no idea if he will lose his little claw - all because this breeder apparently didn't know birds would chew through anything. This is…

Great for the price

I have a conure parrot that was crippled from birth. She can't hit the aviary, but gets along well with sleeping tents. I've bought a few over the years. This one appears to be well constructed and the hanging hooks are excellent. I paid twice as much for the worst quality. Anything a beak can stumble upon doesn't last forever so I'll be buying more and collecting them for future use. One day my darlings discover that the tents have a hard bottom insert that comes off first. It looks like it…

Good replacement for the shack

I like this shack, it replaces another 'fuzzy' version as it has become dangerous (and comes with warnings). Although my Green Eyes doesn't like this booth (yet), I hope he does. Great cabin but didn't like the zipper that dangles at the bottom. It's needed to reach and remove the solid ground for cleaning (great), but I'm sure my friend will soon notice and go on a search and destroy mission against him. I'll most likely have to take it off when he starts messing with the zipper as that can…

It smells so bad I can't use it.

First off, this little hammock is AMAZING. And it's soft! And it has a zipper so you can pull out the laundry board (AWESOME!). But. (And that's a big BUT.) It smells horribly like burnt plastic. At first I thought it might just be a mailer, so I washed it (hello Blitz!). He still smelled. So I washed it again, only this time with vinegar. Useless. I'm now soaking it in vinegar overnight to see if that helps, but I have little hope. It smells so bad it gives me a headache. I can't imagine…

Design flaw: watch out for parrot damage and cut the strings

My birds love them and I have too for over a year but you have to watch out for the damage they do to them. I lowered my rating to 3 stars because my bird had strangled her toe and was bleeding trying to get free. I recommend hand sewing the lining so the fabric doesn't look seductive. Having learned that, I still plan on replacing my current ones with new ones and hand sewing the lining on to close the overlock seams that seem so nice to chew on. Because my lorises love them so much when they…
