First off, this little hammock is AMAZING. And it's soft! And it has a zipper so you can pull out the laundry board (AWESOME!). But. (And that's a big BUT.) It smells horribly like burnt plastic. At first I thought it might just be a mailer, so I washed it (hello Blitz!). He still smelled. So I washed it again, only this time with vinegar. Useless. I'm now soaking it in vinegar overnight to see if that helps, but I have little hope. It smells so bad it gives me a headache. I can't imagine putting a bird in there. Birds have a delicate respiratory system. If they can't stand the chemical smell of candles or light plug sockets, then they can't stand the smell of that thing in their cage. :-(
