Cheap junk.

First, just keep it cheap. It lives up to that expectation: it worked fine a couple of times, then suddenly decided it wasn't going to stay closed with a VHS tape, so I had to manually keep it closed to keep it working. The locking mechanism was initially untrustworthy but had no problem staying closed when empty, but that goes against the grain of the device. After reading reviews of this and other Kinyo devices, I don't know WHY ANYONE WOULD BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Fade

One of the bad buys.

What a scam! I bought this and it rewound less than 15 tapes before it broke and wouldn't snap or "soft eject" anymore. The only way to use it is by placing a load on it, which means you have to hover over it. Remove the tape before it reaches the end or the motor will keep running and ruin the tape what it did. Even before this, "soft ejection" was barely smooth, and the machine would rewind the tapes too far and too tight, or tear, crumple, or render the tape hopelessly jammed unplayable…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Works great for 3 months! otherwise save your money

This winder only lasted 3 months with light use. Then one day I turn it on to rewind the tape and nothing! I'm not kidding, I probably only rewound 25-30 tapes on this thing. I understand the idea of planned obsolescence. But the product should last for several months. Especially when I pay over 25€ for it. It ended up costing me almost $10 a month to use. Or $1 for a cassette! It's cheaper to buy a $30 VCR that lasts a year and just use it to rewind tapes. Looking through other reviews, I see…

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No performance
