🧤 KitchenAid Asteroid Mini Cotton Oven Mitts: Set of 2 with Silicone Grip, Fire Red - 2 Count Review

These mittens are not the quality I expected and at this price I think I only paid for the KitchenAid tag. Presumably heat resistant to 500, but you can feel significant heat at much lower temperatures for a few seconds. I'm surprised other reviews said the same but still gave the product four stars. If they are advertised as heat resistant at a certain temperature, which they are NOT, then they do not deserve the star rating they get.

I wanted dark blue pot holders to better hide food stains and of course to match the color of my kitchen. I've never had a kitchen gadget that I didn't like so I decided to try these and I wasn't disappointed. They do what they're supposed to and look good doing it! I've never owned this type of oven mitts but I love them and use them all the time. They come in handy especially when I'm draining hot stainless steel pots and pans.

I rarely leave bad reviews because it's not worth it, but I'm sorry I didn't pay attention to some other very recent product reviews that talk about how these mittens don't protect hands from extreme heat at all. Was hoping for something more flexible than silicone coated gloves which are very bulky and awkward to grip baking sheets and baking trays. I was hoping these cotton ones would protect like the ones I grew up with. Unfortunately, the search must be continued. These gloves are not heat resistant enough. I like this idea. They are much easier to get out of the oven than traditional oven mitts. But the heat penetrates the mittens very quickly, and there's nothing like quickly pulling something out and putting it on the counter. . . or pull out the stand and slide it back. We bought these for my parents house because they still used the little braided potholders my sister and I made as kids. It is great. You put your whole hand in and part of the thumb and part of the finger provide a very good grip on large pots, pans or kitchen handles. Straight out of the oven and your whole hand is protected.
