Apart from the inaccurate thermocouple function (+/- 7% reading) this is great value for money. The main reason I bought it was the ammeter feature. So yes, I would recommend this product.

I've always been a fan of small tools. Package arrived in undamaged original packaging! I bought this to measure the temperature on the high side of my air conditioning condenser unit. The temperature sensor seemed to be working fine. If I were to criticize, it would be a bit difficult to attach the sensor to the line to get accurate readings.

I lend my tools to my family. My previous VOM had a cable outlet that would blow the internal fuse if misused. This often happened when someone wasn't paying attention or didn't know what they were doing. This unit doesn't have such a high-amp jack, so it's largely immune to damage. Easy to use once you know the basics of electricity.

The manufacturer tells you that when the MAX setting is selected, the maximum value of the current flowing through the terminals is detected, which is partly true; However, it is not sensitive enough to measure inrush current, so the MAX setting only captures the maximum current draw after a rapid inrush current has already occurred.
