Description of Klein Tools CL220 Digital Clamp Meter - Auto-Ranging, 400 Amp AC, AC/DC Voltage, TRMS, Resistance, Continuity, NCVT Detection, and Temp

Measures AC current and NCVT via clamp and AC/DC voltage, resistance, and continuity via test-leads, and temperature with thermocouple. Non-contact voltage tester integrated into the clamp jaw. Backlit LCD for ease of viewing in low light. Automatically ranging True Root Mean Squared (TRMS) measurement technology for accuracy. Test lead holder on side of clamp and optional magnetic hanger for meter (Cat. Nos. 69445 or 69417) for hands free operation. Measures temperature with a K-Type thermocouple probe. Auto-Range, Hold, Data Hold, and Max value.

Can't read DC

I was hoping to use it in my home electrical panel and car batteries etc but this device can't read DC. I wish I'd paid more attention to the description, but I assumed that every counter these days can do both. In addition, it is able to measure DC and AC voltage.

Reliability of multitesters

Great product, good accuracy. Other brands cost less money but for power related tools I went with the brand name. I'm very impressed with the feel of the device rather than the cheap build.

No DC reading capability

I was hoping to use it for my home circuit board and car batteries etc but this unit cannot read DC. I wish I could focus more on the description, but I assumed every counter could do both at this point. In addition, it is able to measure DC and AC voltage.

Great quality at an affordable price

I needed a new meter and Fluke are very proud of their product so I didn't want to spend a lot. I know Klein has a good reputation in the instrument business having used them for many years so I decided to try their test/amplifier probe. I was very satisfied and can't say anything bad about him or the seller. I would recommend to anyone who needs a new gauge.

What I need for multitesters

My friend drew my attention to this instrument. For some reason this meter is the only one that reliably gives accurate readings on the ground or neutral wire. I have 3 other ammeters, all from well-known manufacturers in the industry, and not cheap either. None of them read readings with the same accuracy as this device. After receiving it I tried it at home with two other gauges and then at a local factory I make something for. On hot wires, everything reads about the same. On neutral or…
