Surprisingly affordable

I love this megger. This was the first Klein meter I've ever used. I've found myself using it more than my Fluke 87. Don't get me wrong, Fluke is an amazing product, but if I ever need to replace it I'll probably save myself $500 and the Klein equivalent.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • unreliable

Great quality and value!

Almost half the price of Fluke quality. Only the test leads are a bit cheap. which can be replaced with better ones, this is an excellent counter/megohmmeter. As an electrical contractor, I don't use this tool on a daily basis, but I have used it frequently. It seems accurate and very durable. I would definitely buy it again if needed.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • old

Perfect for testing DitraHeat floors

I needed a megger to test my Ditra-Heat underfloor heating system. I found this meter and wasn't sure if it met the manufacturer's specs. I called Schlueter and spoke to an engineer who made sure it fit. I've used it for 3 tier setups so far. Less expensive than other counters but does the job perfectly.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Easy to maintain

A good megohmmeter seems to work

Outputs DCV as it should for measuring high impedances. You don't have to buy it if you don't understand why you need it and how to use the megaohm function safely. It has other useful features that many cheaper devices have. Looks like good quality for the money but not the flu. Career EE welcomes occasional home use as a personal tool.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Fix it

Too early to say or judge properly

What I didn't like the most was the brand new 1000 volt generator unit with a 1/8"+ loose solder ball rattling inside. Me also didn't like that i had to disassemble the new tester to get it thank god i did, if i had turned this thing on the results could have been disastrous i'm sure last thing on me What I didn't like was that I couldn't ask Revane or Klein a question about it before posting this review.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Great megger for the price, very well built and accurate

I am very happy with this purchase. This gauge is built like a tank and has good accuracy. I only bought this to test the insulation on an air conditioning compressor and so far it has worked very well. No more guessing if something is shorted to ground or weak insulation. I was very surprised to get a meter of this quality for this price. After that I bought a magnetic tape and if you buy this gauge you should probably get it. Magness is very durable, making it very convenient for hanging on…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Ideal for servicing engines and starters.

I have used Supco-Megger to test compressors and AC motors but the reading alone is excellent right away, volts, continuity, ohms. That alone makes up most of my work. Megohm meter is great! A lock button and dial over the numbers, cables that pop out when not in use so you don't have to toss them in your bag, a backlit screen, a kickstand, great haptics. You'll have to keep track of your own readings and do the math, but it can run any tests you need, spit, donate, pi. I'm using Fluke banana…

Excellent build quality

Haven't used it for isolation testing yet but will update when I do. The build quality is really nice. I have used the Fluke 1507 Megger many times and can say that it is as good quality as it was. In fact, the way Klein shaped the buttons in this gauge is quite pleasing. The screen is clear, everything is as it should be. I need a megger for 1000V. Also this megger goes for 4000MΞ©. Randomness goes up to 11000 I believe. Don't think it matters much as at this distance you usually know if a…
