Klein's standard outlet testers are more accurate

To be honest I was really hoping for a poor man's network analyzer (which costs ≈$300) when I bought it. It's definitely not what it is. Like the standard socket tester, it always shows only one type of error. This way, if the outlet isn't grounded, it doesn't indicate reverse polarity or other problems either. I've also found that it falsely detects ground more often than standard small-scale outlet testers (RT110 and RT210). I still only use it because the included cable saves me the hassle…

What This Thing Does

They don't seem to say much about what this thing does, so I looked it up out of curiosity. It appears to generate many high frequency surges of current which are seen as a change in voltage on the line that the Afcis switch is looking for. I've attached a picture of the signal which basically shows what's going on. He inserts this over every other cycle of the sine wave. I also recorded at a very high frequency and checked it in detail. The frequency waveform is very similar to the arc I…

Useful and high quality tester

I used it to test all the sockets in my house. I found one that had reverse wiring so it was definitely worth it. I was also able to test the functionality of the GFCI outputs myself instead of just relying on the test buttons built into those outputs. I don't have AFCI sockets, so I can't try this test function. The tester is easy to use and small enough to reach most electrical outlets. The length of the cable is short but acceptable given the function of this tester. An extension cord may be
