Filter fits perfectly, but be aware that o-rings don't fit properly. I have a Ninja 250r and the site says it's compatible but the o-rings don't fit. They are too big to use. So far I've used an old O-ring, but next time I'll try to find another product. I would not recommend this if you need/need o-rings.

I bought this part for my 2003 Kawasaki ZZR1200. I compared this part to the old one and the measurements turned out to be accurate. There was a small defect where a bead of the glue used to glue the filter media to the metal stuck to the outside of the metal, but I was able to scrape it off easily with a knife. The item arrived fairly quickly and I was able to install it with no problems. I would buy it again.

Excellent oil filter, good quality. K&N's have a bad reputation for making mistakes, but most of them are bolted on with a safety wire nut on the end that's prone to breaking due to poor welding. There are also reports of O-rings failing with their thread types, but about half of those reports are likely due to installation errors. This is an internal filter and the o-ring is not supplied so there is very little room for error.

O-rings were too thick. I had to work very hard to get the bottom plate over the o-ring on the stem and the large plate was too thick and didn't fit properly. I poured out about half a liter of oil and had to completely change the oil with matching o-rings. In the garage it didn't leak, but under pressure with the engine running. I used to use K&N with no problems but they gave up on this one.

I have a 2003 Ninja250R and have never had a problem with KN-401 o-rings. I have used this particular filter set 3 times and when I first bought it from Amazon I was concerned about the reviews. I can safely say that on a Ninja 250R (pre 2008) this filter and o-rings fit snugly and snugly, never had a problem installing o-rings and never had a problem with o-ring leaks. Maybe it's different with other bikes. but it works great for me.

I'm a Kawasaki guy and these filters fit my '82 KZ440 and 250 Ninja 250. I've used HiFloFiltro filters in both based on the Assumption that these are former K&N contractual partners. The O-rings supplied with the filter are the wrong size. To be specific, the diameter of the gasket itself is too large to fit into the engine casting or thru-bolt that contains the bypass. This created a time consuming problem as removing the old filter required new o-rings otherwise there was a possible oil leak. The new supplied O-rings could not be used.
