After struggling with another tool for over 10 minutes I decided to purchase these spring pliers based on another review. Another review talked about how easy it was to remove the snap rings with the right tool and gosh they were right! It took me 5 seconds to remove the snap ring with these pliers. I highly recommend.

These circlip pliers are the best I have ever had. I use them to remove and install snap rings on side gears on VW transmissions and they work great. The tips are slightly angled toward each other, which helps hold the locking ring in place when you squeeze it. The tips are also just the right size to fit the locking ring holes, unlike others that have tiny tips that slip out when you squeeze them.
