works exactly as it should

by far the cheapest and most satisfactory solution to avoid burning your index finger while crocheting! I've tried a few metal rings that just didn't work - they let me maintain tension, the surface is wide enough to protect my fingers, and I can use multiple strands. And super cheap! Since I have a multipack I can keep them for different projects and crochet kits I use.

Finger protectors

Yes, they are cheaply made. But BONUS! Something that works and is inexpensive! They completely solve the problem of friction burns from extensive crocheting. My only complaint is that the ring portion isn't more central. I've tried a few more expensive thread guides that didn't fit or helped pull the thread off my finger. I have pretty small fingers. They have some ability to stretch for the thumbs. I will definitely buy more of these.

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. When you hold the crochet yarn with your fingers, make sure there is some tension. It is almost impossible to crochet without tension as the tension controls the thread. As with sewing, tension is a critical component. I did my best. I really did. I've been watching YouTube videos and experimenting in every way I can, but I couldn't find a way to tighten the yarn when using them! If anyone figured it out, PLEASE let me know! Or make a video on YouTube and post it here. But…
