Installation instructions are misleading

Instructions say to install inflation hose and clamp. It wasn't included in the package either. After spending several hours searching around my garage and on the internet for the hose, I saw many reviews that had this complaint. Some have said that there was no water flow from the fill valve assembly that the fill hose connects to. Further web research led to a plumbing forum where professionals said that with one-piece toilets, the gut water is replaced through holes in the rim, not the fill…

Works but warns of two things

Seems to have solved the original valve's leakage problem but this metal one has lasted almost 20 years. Will consider it lucky if it even lasts 5 years. One of the other reviewers was very helpful and explained that you would probably have to drill a small hole for the water to exit into the tank. It has to be a manufacturer error and it's definitely annoying, apart from the fact that they didn't bother to include the fill tube and bracket (those parts weren't part of the original for some…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • So-so

The toilets in our newly purchased home are high quality, low flow Kohler toilets that are almost 15 years old. After a few months, we found that perfusing often required multiple flushes, or worse, dipping before emptying. Upon investigation, the installer concluded that limescale deposits that had naturally accumulated over the years were narrowing their outlets, which explained our problems. Before replacing them I decided to swap out the floats in them - and voila, this easy to install OEM…

READ, Gang! If you want the stuffing tube to work (I did) you need to carefully poke a thin piece of plastic into the stuffing tube. It's about 3/4 inch inside. It's easy to drill, just don't overdo it and hammer the drill bit inside. I used a 1/8" drill bit. See attached image. I'm confused as to why the passage is such a gimmick, but I think the logic is that this block is meant to replace many models with different features. Thanks to fellow reviewers and Q&A contributors. It's the…

The valve seems good, but the fill tube and clamp are NOT included.

This unit is fairly easy to install and works well. I used it on a Kohler K3386 one piece toilet. The previous filling valve had NO filling tube. This new unit has a nipple for a rubber inflation hose, but for some odd reason, neither the hose nor the clamp, both shown in the diagram, were included. I think this new valve is for older fixed toilets, some of which need a fill tube and some don't. My previous valve didn't have a fill tube. If you need a filler hose, you need to drill a hole in…
