So far so good for length measurements

We take a lot of measurements in manholes and need a good tape measure. So far this one is doing well and is easy to read sideways when the numbers are spinning. I will buy more of these.

If you work in the field this is a good option

I have used Lufkin for years and have always been disappointed. Private label is even worse. I had these a few months and was very satisfied. It costs money.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Transparency

Typical self-destructing Komelon ribbon, bent end

Feeding a Komelon ribbon at full speed will break it. You have to keep your finger on the blade and slowly let it retract. My assistant forgot to slow it down today, the result is in the attached image. Now it is unusable and only 4 days old. I was hoping this one was better built and didn't have the issues the entire line has with this self destruct, it's exactly the same.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • So far so good

The tape is twisted at the end and not fixed.

I am a real estate appraiser. Bought this device to measure the square feet of the house. Used technical scales for almost 20 years. Used this tape for a week and the snap end of the tape curled up and turned to the side. Can't get stuck at the end of the house or anything. It rotates laterally and is not fixed, so it has no functional use. I really want a refund or replacement. Band is in new condition. Many Thanks.

Engineering scales would be more useful on both sides of the blade

I like engineering scales but I don't find them very useful because they are only on one side of the blade and not the other. I often have to switch sides of the knife while I'm working. I'm often forced to hold the blade in one direction and not the other. So I can measure on the wall in engineering but then have to switch to inches on the saw - what agony. I would give this product 5 stars if it had an engineering scale on both sides.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Hands down is the best hand tape for the construction surveyor!

I have had several of these tapes in my surveying career. They have never let me down but for some reason they have disappeared from the workplace. These belts are 100% better than Lufkin. They are very smooth and don't feel bulky at all when pulling and pulling back the band. The background color is very light, it highlights the dimension and makes it very readable. The price is even cheaper than Lufkin. You will be very happy with your purchase!

NOT decimal inches, but DECIMAL FEET and fractional inches.

Wed 23.12.2020 20:25. I thought the product I received was a decimal inch half metric scale ruler. But no! This is the tenths of a foot rule that shares the scale with regular inches. Which of course is NOT what is shown in the picture or suggested anywhere on the product page. The rule is probably useful for conducting polls, and the reviews say so. This is NOT USEFUL for those trying to measure inches in decimals instead of binary style fractions. It's not going to happen. Although the…

Technical tape with the best value for money in its class.

I work in the mud every day. That means my roulettes don't last more than a month. It doesn't matter if I buy a $45 tape or a $4 tape. Everyone sees the same fate. Although I review them often, I don't like buying the super cheap ones because I'm a pro and need the 10s and inches, they're not that cheap. This $12 tape measure is high quality and well made. This is one of the best values for roulette. It's not super light, which I don't like, but it's durable. The coating of the tape is…
