Efficient Battery Saver: Koolatron F70110 12V in Sleek Black Design Review

I've read some other reviews questioning the reliability of this device but I've been using it 24/7 for 6 months and it works as advertised. A useful accessory, especially if you don't want to lug a cool box to your hotel room every evening.

I'm traveling with a purchased Koolatron cooler, which I also don't recommend. The energy saving mode does not work. It plugs in and works until the car is turned off, and shortly after it is turned off, the energy saving indicator will change color from green to red and turn off the cooler. I would say 5-10 minutes after parking the car. I don't understand buying this product or colder products as they only work when the engine is running. What if you have to stop? Works very well. After reading the reviews I decided to test before the trip. I connected a small 12v AGC battery and then connected my Igloo electric cooler. It worked for about 30 minutes before the voltage dropped somewhere between 11 and 12 volts. I couldn't verify the exact shutdown voltage as it recovered somewhat after the battery saver shut down the cooler.
