This was the perfect monopod for me and my Sony camcorder. I also have a Sony VCT-VPR1 tripod with remote control at hand. This is also a good tripod, but sometimes it's inconvenient to carry and set up. I hesitated to buy a monopod because I didn't want to give up the remote control in the tripod grip.
