Kowa TSN-880 Prominar Angled Body Spotting Scope with 88mm Pure Fluorite Lens - High Performance, Green Review

I bought my 883 about 6 months ago and I love it. I made a digoscope with it, the image quality is excellent. This is the heavy end of scopes, so be aware of that when purchasing one. You need a good stable tripod. Worth every penny. Otherwise, I'm a supporter of Swarovski, but there's more value here.

Upgraded from a 30 year old Kowa. Heck, the optics have certainly improved. Use it with a 25x fixed magnification LER lens. It's hard to imagine how there could be a much better range than this. Dedicated F-class shooter. Seeing a mirage is now much easier. I highly recommend it, but the cost is a bit too much :)

The best spotting scope I've ever seen. On a good enough day you can see 6 bullet holes 600 meters away. Scale Clear and Bright is everything I imagined. Hoping to see holes at 1000 yards. on a really good day. I've had the scope for a month and use it every Friday. December and January days in New Mexico were cold and windy. I have been bird spotting for decades and have always dreamed of a spotting scope of this caliber. At first glance, the Kowa 883 produces a bright, ultra-sharp image right to the edge of the field of view at any magnification. With a zoom of 20 to 60, fast turning and precise focusing is so easy that no training is required. I taught astronomy for 32 years and had nothing to do with this ease of use. Maybe Kowa should build telescopes using the technology they use for spotting scopes? My wife…

My wife and I (poultry farmers) have had this scope for about a year now. Love it. An excellent combination of reasonable weight and size with excellent optics and comfortable vision. It comes with a well-made protective cover that allows you to use the scope on a tripod without removing the cover. The only limitation we have is that the scope is quite expensive. There are other brands that are also expensive and have a reputation for quality. After trying several scopes we settled on this one…
