Cuts very well but I should have ordered something with a longer shank. The picture shows how I started on the stove. The wood was still wet enough that this method didn't work as expected, so I attached my 3.125 HP router to a metal frame and got a smooth finish. There is a lot of dirt and stones in the mouthpiece, so I have to sharpen the knife several times with a side grinder.

I bought this for carriage alignment but it doesn't work for my particular application. Great for regular edging cuts but will cause a tear at the end (not the bit's fault). It fits great on a 1/2" shank and feels nice and sharp. I cut the crap out of my finger to remove the shipping oil. Nice packaging too. Can't comment on longevity or longevity.

Economical hardfacing tip. I used them to level 3 x 16 foot oak panels on my CNC machine. An old shop robot with a 3.25 HP Porter cable cutter. not exactly a high dollar setup, but it works. The bits kept clipping but started burning a little after 5 or 6 hours of use, but that was partly due to the slow 60 ipm I had to run to keep the router from stalling. Would I buy again, yes I have already bought 4

This thing really does a great job cutting right through. no binding, removes a lot of wood very quickly. The first one I bought I planed both sides of 2 large slabs of hickory, 2 large block circles, 10ft 3" red oak and now both of my 5ft 3" thick slabs of red oak. . It went through pretty much everything before it got boring and I had to replace it to finish the final red oak panel. Put a new one in and it went through, no problem, no problem.

I'm not a skilled carpenter but I built my own workbench and don't have a plane if I have one. I used this router bit in my own leveler and it was perfect for the job. It left a few whorls in various places, and there's no flattened part on the shank for the cutter to grab hold of, but it seems to have stayed in place and gotten the job done. It's quite large so I haven't used it for anything else yet.

The surface cleans well on a wide area, but the floor cleaning is not so good on a small area. The carbide mold leaves a crown in the center. If you don't move past the middle of the cut, it leaves a high point. When it came out of the box there were 3/16" chips in the carbide on both sides in the middle. This won't affect the armor as the center doesn't touch, so I left four stars. Doesn't work for me because I'm looking for a flat machined surface when dipping.
