Didn't fit my dog โ€‹โ€‹:/

I had high hopes for these braces as other reviews said it worked for their dog but I don't think it worked for mine. First off, I have a corgi who injured R's back leg sliding down the stairs at my house. She has been limping for about 2 weeks now and I bought this brace hoping to stabilize and support her leg. After measuring my dog and buying the XS, I found that it didn't fit my dog's foot. I tried making some adjustments but it seems to me that the corset was just so uncomfortable for herโ€ฆ

Suitable for large dogs with boots and paw pads

My St. Bernard has a partial CCL rupture, our vet recommended trying this bandage before buying a really expensive custom bandage. I was worried it would fit as it is so big. I ordered XXL which is closest to the sizes. The buddha weighs around 155 pounds and the XXL is just right for him to be honest I wish it was a bit bigger so it would be a bit higher but I love it when it's nice and cozy when it is is on. He doesn't even seem to notice he's wearing it. He can walk with no problem, but this

It helps but is hard to keep in place

My 65 lb lab mix had damaged CCL (much like ACL in humans). While waiting to see if non-invasive treatments would work, we received this brace to help support the knee. On the plus side, the brace helped, but it was difficult to keep the brace in place. The girth kept slipping off her bottom and then tangled in her legs. Just what you need - something that will trip a dog with an already injured leg. We ended up running another strap from her collar to the saddle strap to keep the saddle strapโ€ฆ

Great alternative to surgery

Our doberman pinscher tore ligaments in his back left leg a few months ago and after our vet billed us over $300 for x-rays he broke my husband the bad news that she was supposed to have $4,000 surgery. Unfortunately, even though we love it to death, our budget can't handle this expense. When we asked the vet what would happen if we didn't, he said she would be fine, but she could have arthritis. I wasn't at the front desk but my husband called me and I asked him to check. We thought about itโ€ฆ

he/she can handle it easily if he/she is relatively smart.

Use the chart and measure first. I have two Siberian Huskies. I measured and it matched the breed recommendation but it didn't fit my other husky. You need one size bigger, so measure. Second, he/she will easily accomplish this task if he/she is relatively smart or lucky. My dog just lay down, crawled back and got up and he went right through it. Third, be careful with the velcro and hold the sewn part open while undoing the folded velcro to attach the strap. Mine broke halfway through and Iโ€ฆ

NOT suitable for men!

Delivery within the promised time. I ordered the right size based on my dog's size but it won't do him any good. 1) It just doesn't fit the leg properly - the shape of the brace doesn't match the shape of the dog's leg. 2) The strap holding them in place should pass under your abdomen and up your back to attach to the outside of the brace. It might work for a bitch but my poor Chewie can't take it - the strap just cuts his penis perfectly! I've tried moving it around a bit, adjusting someโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Almost everything available

They should have listened to those who said "DO NOT BUY THIS!". What a waste of money! But let me be more specific. First, the sizes don't match completely. No matter what size you buy, if your dog has severely deformed legs (in which case see your vet instead of buying this) it will not fit. It would probably be a better pistol holster than knee pads. It also has no adjustment straps. So if it's too big, you're out of luck, unless you have a sewing machine that can handle double-thick neoprene

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
