Kryptonite Keeper Standard Bicycle Bracket Review

I bought this item just over a month ago and the lock is completely stuck. Every time I need to use it, it takes me at least 10 minutes to unlock it. The key rotates 90 degrees and stays there no matter how many tricks I find online. As someone who uses my bike to get between classes and work, it's utterly ridiculous that something as stupid as a bike lock could keep me from meeting my commitments on time. Do not buy this lock.

Unfortunately I hate this lock. I think it could be a defect but I never kept my packaging. It takes up to 5 minutes to try to unlock, usually around 1 minute or more. I have to keep wiggling the key until it finally unlocks. I've tried various methods of wiggling the key (including flipping the key) and I have no idea why it never opens easily. Basically it is like this. takes forever to unlock. For the price and the hype I expected better.

I like the lock in general but I also had the issue of the key not turning properly to lock/unlock it (others have described it as sticking). I've found that if you hold the straight part of the lock vertically (lock with the key pointing straight down or straight up) it appears to unlock and the key turns smoothly. A little annoying, but overall it works. It's also not the world's thickest lock (I wouldn't use it on an expensive bike. But I like that it's lighter so it's easier to carry)…

Ordinary lock. I personally wouldn't use it as the only bike lock. I also have a standard Kryptonite Series 2 wired lock so this was just an extra precaution. This lock is much stronger and has a cable that deters thieves. I recommend this lock instead. This product was AMAZING!. until after 7 months I took it over my coffee table and started cycling every day anytime. If someone does this in an environment where it never rains, they will get great results as well. This is the third kryptonite lock I've bought and the first Keeper. The lock works perfectly. I've never had a problem with a kryptonite lock and this one was no exception. I first tried mounting this lock on the seat tube but as other reviewers have pointed out the lock cannot be placed in the frame triangle as it has to slide in to be removed.
