Bad flat key - U-locks

This is my fourth Kryptonite lock. I commute to work and use my bicycle to commute frequently between labs on campus. The specific design of the keys is very flat and there are almost no "features" on them. I'm not sure if this is related to my problem. I have to fiddle with the barrel a lot every time I lock it. Sometimes it takes me about a minute to line up the toggle switch so my key works. This is very frustrating and seems to be a sign that the brand has lost control over quality.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Overpriced, mount not strong.

This lock is about twice the price of a mini u lock but I bought it because I wanted something that would look cool on my bike and be easy to use. I thought the lock no longer hung on my belt loop, but I was wrong. I've been using this lock less than three weeks and only on city streets and the bracket has fallen apart. That's not enough for a lock that costs $50. I would like to give the seller an opportunity to resolve this issue, but I will not wait past the return date.

If I go insane, will you still call me Superman?

Husband bought a fancy bike and for about 6.5 months decided to "take a chance" and see if it was stolen. It's not like this. I have no idea how, but said bike didn't move on its bike rack. But I'm a little crazy (a little?!) and worrying all the time, so I surprised him with this lock for said fancy bike. . It has never been stolen in the 3 months we have had this lock and I have full confidence in this bike lock for our happiness. It is reliable, easy to use and lockable. To remove it you'll…

Small padlock (not as described) with adjustable fastening system

Description says 11.5 inches. nope This is a mini U lock with an overall length of about 9 inches. But it seems good. And I think the mount will work, although I haven't ridden the bike to test it. I like that it's adjustable. I have a small frame bike so no luck will ever fit in the triangle. With the adjustable mounting system, I was able to find a seat on the side, far enough forward to not get in the way of my knee, front fork, and other moving parts. When the system keeps it still and…

No problem.: U-locks

Great product - high quality and works well. The best entry level kryptonite lock on the market that even comes with an attachment to hold the lock while cycling. The keys are of high quality, do not stick and do not bend. The lock holder comes with a rubber strap to avoid scratching the frame. The ability to sign up for a kryptonite insurance program that will give you up to $2,000 back if your bike is stolen (if I'm not wrong). And they also send you free keys if you register them. Great…

Sturdy adjustable bike lock

It's hard to believe that this lock doesn't have the highest level of security. It's heavy and thick, and the nature of the locking mechanism means the pieces stay in place even after cutting, meaning it has to be cut a second time before the bike can be stolen. Plus, when it's attached to the bike frame, everything is infinitely adjustable: the clamp on the lock itself rotates 360°, and the bracket that attaches to the bike has a fabric strap that wraps tight even around odd-shaped frame bars…
