🥑 Kuhn Rikon Colori Avocado Knife Review

I got mine as a gift many years ago. It is used daily for slicing, scooping and peeling my avocados. I liked mine so much that I gave it to him at the turn of the year.

Much smaller than I expected. My husband (full chef) and son used it. They had trouble using this with large avocados that had been in the fridge for a few days. Our 13 year old can now handle his own avocados without the biggest knife in the set which is a relief. An inch longer would have been better.

Where has this little tool been all my life?! I'm an avocado fanatic but never learned to love the green slime that covers my hands, knife, countertop and floor. This little guy put an end to all this chaos. I have to admit I was very skeptical when ordering, now I'm a real fan. This little tool really is the best thing since fanny packs were invented and just as handy, although I still can't get a grip on the hole!

I like this product for the most part. I gave it 4 stars because the part you have to hit the hole and pull out has relatively small dots and I almost always have trouble getting the hole out. I usually buy larger avocados and this product seems to work for the smaller ones. Overall it has held up well and I still use it to this day. I love Kuhn Rikon gadgets and I have several devices that I use often. Unfortunately this is my first disappointment with their tools. The hole that should take out the avocado pit is so small that it becomes unusable. It has a jagged edge, but it doesn't bite into the pit, and if you press too hard it will push out the avocado's flesh and make a mess. can be messy and you end up wasting quite a lot of leftovers.
