Description of Kuhn Rikon Colori Chef's Knife Review: 6 Inch Black Knife with Safety Sheath

An all-round favourite for general dicing, chopping and mincing, as well as cutting cheese. Features an ultra-sharp, hand-ground, long-lasting Japanese stainless steel blade. Non-stick coating releases food from the cutting surface for easier and neater chopping. Easy-to-grip handle contours to the hand for maximum comfort. Matching sheath allows safe storage within kitchen drawers and is great for use outside the kitchen (barbecues, camping, on vacation etc).

I have a year and the paint is peeling

All my knives are from this brand and before that I really appreciate the quality of the product. Having owned this knife for almost a year now, a few months ago the paint started peeling off leaving particles all over the food. I washed it in the dishwasher, maybe that's why. Disappointed with the design. My old knives of the same brand with no paint on the sharp side still hold up very well.

Excellent knife for the money

This is a very sharp knife that cuts vegetables evenly and cleanly. It retains its sharpness for quite a while and is cheap enough that when it loses its sharpness you can just buy a new one. I'm sure you can sharpen it even though I just bought a new one. Warning, I just left it on a cutting board and accidentally hit the sharp edge with my index finger and it cut my finger. He's that sharp.

very sharp! Excellent knife

I have bought several paring knives from this brand and I really like them. Super sharp so be careful. I liked them so much that I bought this knife. It's Teflon or something like that on the outside and very, very sharp. cuts raw meat almost by itself and cleans like the wind. this will be my favorite knife, i'm sure of it. The price is good too and I love that these knives come with a sheath to keep them (and me) safe in the drawer. We wash them by hand.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time

I can't say enough good things about these knives!

I've had a couple of Kuhn Rikon paring knives for several years (8 I think) that I really like, so I've added this knife to my collection. Kuhn Rikon cutlery is lightweight so your hands/wrists don't get tired when you're cutting a lot of food. The blades stay sharp for a long time - I haven't sharpened mine yet and I've had them for at least 8 years and I cook A LOT! The lid that slides over the blade is nice because it protects your hands when rummaging through the utensil drawer. They come…

Super sharp and beautiful!

I love this knife. Cheap but great. I might even like it better than the Victorinox I (and everyone else) got after Cooks Illustrated called it a bomb. I'm small and my hands are the size of 6.5 gloves. This works better for me than the larger Victorinox. The blade is still razor sharp and I didn't have to sharpen it. I've been using it at least every other day for 6 months. The graphite color looks very cool as a bonus. Update: I moved this to our AirBnb rental and I miss it! Guests have been…
