🔧 KYB 343379 Excel-G Gas Shock: High-Quality Black and Silver Suspension Upgrade Review

2 ordered. One was definitely upside down. They are the same for left and right. Same part number. One of the bolt holes was reversed. Ordered a third one assuming it was a one off quality control issue and it ended up being upside down too. I had to order a 4th. Pretty absurd. I'm a licensed mechanic. They are definitely upside down. It seems that KYB has followed the same path as everyone else - China. Unfortunately, next time you will have to spend money on German ones.

The rear shock absorbers are ok but I decided to change them because I changed the front ones. Big mistake. unusable after two days. I return a few and install new ones. and again the same problem. My Pathfinder bounces from behind a lot. If I had the old ones I would send them back!

We have checked the make and model of our vehicle and Revain's vehicle compatibility check has shown that the dampers will fit. This was after a 30 day return before I could proceed with the installation and found the products did NOT fit. I would recommend NOT relying on the vehicle cross reference feature as it can lead to incorrect information and compatibility. If I could I would give the transactions 0 stars with no stars.

I used these to replace failed OEM shocks on a 2003 Pathfinder. They offer the perfect balance of stiffness and flex for road riding where the biggest obstacle is a speed bump or pothole. Installation was definitely easy and required no lifting at all. Just park on a level surface and set the parking brake (and lock your wheels, just in case). Purchased for a 2001 Qx4 with rear shocks. I wanted to upgrade my suspension to make it a little stiffer. When inspecting these shocks, I noticed that it is relatively easy to compress these shocks. I interpreted this as gently cushioning those shocks. However, after replacing those shocks with KYB Gas-A-Just monotube shocks, I think they would suffice as I also upgraded my coil springs to make them stiffer.
