good shock Very easy to install.

They work well and are absolutely easy to install. After making one, I was able to remove and install the other side in less than 10 minutes using basic tools. I could have replaced the shock absorbers sooner if I had known it was that easy. Works best with 2 ports. One for the car and one for spring compression to remove the damper.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Almost identical to Toyota OEMs that also do KYB

My 2008 Sienna LE is 12 years old and has done 130,000 miles and I thought it was about time although the van has always run well. The factory ones I removed were also KYBs (just with a slightly shorter cylinder), they looked and worked like new :(I replaced them with the new Excel-Gs but I think it was a waste of money. Obviously none noticeable changes, too.. I think our roads in Atlanta are very smooth, at least the new ones will last 130,000+ miles :)

Perfect fit, weak installation instructions, nice cust svc!

The damper comes with a pair of rubber bushings and a pair of metal plates along with a bunch of blurry graphics and confusing installation instructions in various configurations. I emailed KYB, they replied immediately and with a clearer pattern and with some quick replies, they told me how to build a stack. Fitment to my 2008 Sienna Ltd 7 seater 4WD was very easy (reusing the original dust cover and inner bumper), I didn't even have to jack the car up. (I'm a little guy with an impact wrench…

Good dampers.

I bought this for my 2005 4WD Sienna. I installed it myself after watching a few YouTube videos. Tip if you are buying this for Toyota Sienna. I didn't have to jack up the van or remove the wheels. I just install them by going under the car, there was enough space so I didn't have to jack up the van. The passenger side is a bit cramped because of the muffler and you'll need someone to get you out of the trunk, but it was still pretty easy. It was a simple setup overall. Probably 5 minutes on…

Wow what a difference

I installed them in my 2006 Toyota Sienna. I had to replace the driver's side rear shock absorber because it had burned out (7 years of service is bad). It was easy enough that it took longer to install; than the actual installation. It took me 20 minutes to install both rear shocks and almost 30 minutes to prepare. lol! In any case, this changes the driving characteristics of the transporter. It seems harder to ride than stock dampers. The KYB shocks themselves were slightly longer (about an…

Easy to replace, affordable, keeps you bouncing while boating

Very easy to install. It took about 45 minutes per side as I have never done this with this van before. All new bushings were used. The old cylinder was simply reused because I like the look of it. Ride quality has improved significantly and high speeds are comfortable again. My 2004 Sienna jerked all the time because one side was leaking and blown out. The shocks rebounded at different speeds, and you could feel and see it while going at 60-70 mph. I happily bought matching A-pillars to…

2012 Sienna XLE Perfect fit, huge improvement in ride quality

I installed these shocks on my 2012 Toyota Sienna XLE. There was quite a bit of beating and beating in the van that became unbearable. We even considered the possibility of a complete replacement of the car. I'm glad we didn't because those shocks dramatically improved the handling and ride quality. Actually. shocked. Installation was NBD, took about 2 hours from start to finish on my street. If you've never worked with jacks and a good jack, get it done by a professional. This is kind of a…

Perfect fit for 2006 Sienna 8 seats.

Thanks to all the reviewers above for the really helpful information. I received these and made them today for my 2006 Sienna LE. Some of the lessons I've learned that others might find useful: 1. It's definitely not necessary to remove tires. Got advice from another reviewer ie no need to remove tire. There is enough space to work under the minivan. In fact, nothing interferes with the work.2. Do a dry run with all your wrenches before you take things off. This will ensure you have the right…
