Easy to fit, stable quality standard, had no problems many years ago, didn't need shock absorbers and struts for many years and in recent months I've reintroduced them as a reminder that top companies are still ahead of the curve.

The original OEM shocks on my MGM only lasted 50,000 miles but for some reason they rode really hard. I heard KYB would be harsh, but that might only apply to the HD (police) version. I would say this is normal for a civilian model, but does not provide enough rebound dampening for my liking. I don't know if HD will be too hard.

Very strong shock absorbers and a very comfortable ride. They feel way better than the Monroe 5993 shocks. Installation was a blast. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with all the hardware to install it. If you need new gear, you will need to purchase a KYB SM5267 mounting kit for each shock. If your old hardware is decent enough, skip the mounting kit.

I put my wife on Lincoln. They are a huge improvement over the NEW shocks I installed less than a year ago. I was afraid that they would be too hard for her. However, they are fine. They ride confidently, jump well and actually drop the ride height. Other hits will fall heavily. I like them for this car. I should have used them first. Last year I got them for every 4 turns of my charger and brothers. KYB has been a brand you can trust for many years.

Installed on 06 Crown Vic, drives very well! Installation was a breeze depending on the car, the only thing I really didn't like was that you had to buy a mounting kit separately depending on the car. There is no "universal" mounting kit included. I bought these after installing a pair of high performance Monroe shocks a year ago which literally fell apart and became unusable after installation. Stick to KYB after your original shocks/struts fail or if you follow the 50K rule (I don't).

These shock absorbers made my Lincoln Town Car so insanely hard and miserable that the car literally jumps like crazy over bumps in the road! And what's ridiculously weird about these shocks is that they don't even break in and will soften over time. Instead, they get harder and harder with age! I installed them on the back of my (wife) Grand Marquis '04 Ultimate Edition (with air springs/auto leveling system) and they are fantastic. The ride is better over bumps, and the rear end doesn't feel like it's skidding when it comes to bumpy corners on poorly maintained city streets. The ride isn't harsh at all - it feels comparable to the factory. But now there's definitely more control and better handling, and the sharp bumps in the road just disappear.
