KYB is a good brand.

I paid for mine to be fitted. Monotube dampers are considered premium equipment and I was very satisfied. I'm considering buying the rear as well.

Pros
  • Shock absorber
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Great shock! - Shocks, Struts & Suspension

These are excellent shocks. It might be too stiff for a small, single-cab Ranger, but now I can turn without fear of rolling, and the rear of my truck no longer bounces across the road.

Pros
  • Replacement Parts
Cons
  • Cord shorter than others

Excellent shock absorbers. They felt a bit stiff at first on my 1991 Ranger, but it corners smoothly and doesn't dive under braking, and I've gotten used to it now. They also eat speed bumps at 5 mph at 30 mph without a tantrum, just take it and go, and road construction bridges at 70 mph and I don't have to fight to hold on to my streak. Also, I can now feel if the air pressure in my tires is slightly different. They are much stronger than auto parts store shocks and I had to use a jack to…
