KYB 565009 MonoMax Gas Shock Review

Appears to be good quality but the bottom opening was too small for my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo so I went back. Although the length was just right for a 6 inch lift.

The old F150 got pretty low in the back due to the weight. I've put a few thousand miles on these new shocks and the truck feels a lot better on rough roads, empty or loaded.

Shock absorbers work properly but be sure to check nuts, washers etc. I have ordered two. One came with the correct parts, the other was clearly for a different model. It was easier to get to HD and get what I needed than returns etc so I don't know what the customer service would have been like.

I bought a full set of KYB MonoMax shocks (KYB 565009 and 565006) for my 1999 F150 4X4 pickup (which came OEM with heavy duty shocks but has 77,000 miles on it had himself ). These new dampers have greatly improved handling and ride comfort. The steering felt a lot better as roll became muted and more manageable. I didn't expect such an improvement! Not too difficult to install.

I have a 1997 F-150 with over 200,000 miles and the rear shocks were factory. I never replaced them due to time constraints and the bolt was on the bottom of the truck bed.
