🔧 KYB SM5640 - Mounting Kit Review

I agree with the review that Adam G wrote. I think this is a better design than the original. I had the exact same problem as him. The slap of metal on metal coming from my left pillar of my Taoma was loud and quite annoying. I only heard it when the suspension was rapidly loading and unloading. They solved my problem with a Bilstein 5100 kit. My steering seems firmer and the truck is more responsive on twisty freeways and rough dirt roads.

I was hesitant to order these top mounts because I got KYB for my wife's Lexus and they were terrible I had to send them back to use there where Rusty sucks but I shot in the dark and ordered a set for my 4Runner, the ones for the runner are packaged really well, nicely painted and look way better than the car sets so I got them for about a thousand miles used. They are quiet even on a serious train. I would recommend them for the price. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they last a hundred…

08 FJ Cruiser 122km. OME suspension. I've always had this sound, like two pucks hitting each other. Something like a slight jingling with a short but high pitched tone.
