🚗 KYB SM5664 Strut Mount: Ultimate Suspension Enhancement for Maximum Performance Review

The ID of the bearing in the bracket is too small for the A-pillars. My mechanic had to make a special bushing and put another washer on top to keep the post from jumping into the bracket and making horrible noise and potentially catastrophic damage to the post. I would return them if it didn't take another half day to remove and install other fasteners. Terrible product from KYB. I expected better.

Edited May 2020. I would give zero stars here if I could. Terrible quality. There is no kyb stamp anywhere on the part so it's probably just a cheap junk part packaged as kyb. Pay attention. Beat or miss quality. Out of the box, one of them had bearing play. I'd be pissed if I installed them on the car the same day and found out after they took everything apart. It's good that I assembled the racks at the stand and found the product defective before I put it on the car.

I drive a 2007 Subary Legacy Outback Wagon. I've never been able to prove this is the correct rack mount but it is, or at least looks identical and fits, hence 4 stars for the lack of documentation. The A-pillar rotates on a bearing in this mount, so I would replace it. if you are crazy enough to build a front brace yourself, although the one I removed looked and worked fine. I will never do this job again and from what I've heard about KYB I don't need to do it again.

I replaced all 4 posts and the other 3 brackets were purchased from my local shop. There weren't any so I ordered this one as it will be here quicker. When I went to install a new mount, the post couldn't even get back up to reattach. Took it to my mechanic and they had a great time. They finally got it, but when reinstalled they made a horrible metallic noise. Same problem as T. Yanez. The inner diameter of the bearing in the bracket is too small for the front struts.
