I just received this French Press - in black - and have only had it for a few weeks. The black paint is peeling off all edges, allowing the stainless steel to show through. This also happened with careful use and hand washing. I paid a lot for it and am disappointed. Update: Plunger/Filter broke after a month of normal use. press, as well as replace the piston/filter if mine was defective. They were responsive, quick to respond and easy to contact!

I thought maybe the gray bronze wasn't just paint over stainless steel but it is. It already had chips on the bottom of the press upon arrival, which many other reviewers have pointed out, so I'm sending it back immediately and reordering the regular polished stainless steel. I like the colored versions but cost wise the peeling paint is a rag red which definitely makes it very cheap. I will update this product functionality review once I receive a replacement. Out of the box the device looks elegant. Making coffee is pretty easy and the strainers are easy to clean. I'm not sure how long the coffee stays hot as I usually drink right away. This is definitely a nice french press. I bought rose gold which is more like rose silver and a very very light color (which is fine if you don't want it to be too feminine). It is very heavy, almost to the point of failure, as its weight makes it difficult for me to dump the used coffee grounds in the bin. I don't have a drain in my sink so I have to throw it in the bin.
