Works perfectly for faucet rods

There was a leaking and noisy faucet. Replaced old cartridge with this one and problem solved. The whole thing lasted maybe 10 minutes, and most people went down and back to the basement to turn off the water (not turning off under the sink). It's only been 2 months but so far so good.

Pros
  • Plastic material
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Approached normally, but only worked 3.5 months.

This item fits perfectly in my Pegasus faucet. However, it completely failed in less than 4 months without warning or physical "injury". One day it worked perfectly and the next it wouldn't turn off the stream at all. I pulled it out and double checked for dirt or other issues. Nothing. The valve disc will still move when the stem is rotated, but will not isolate.

Pros
  • Plastic
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

These are imported models, not very cheap Lasco

Thought I'd order a genuine Lasco faucet cartridge assembly. These are imported models and the fit tolerances are not the same as the factory fitted Glacier Bay cartridge. As you can see from the photos o-rings are much thinner and cheaper, instead of a steel clip they have a small cheap plastic clip. When I installed the block in the faucet it was still leaking, I replaced it with another cartridge.

Pros
  • Replacement
Cons
  • So-so

Better than Danco in rough plumbing

Matches perfectly the Glacier Bay faucet shown in the picture (original faucet in the house 1989) and appears to be of a higher quality than Danco stems, that I bought from Home Depot, most of which started squeaking almost immediately after installation. This one says "Plastic Ceramic" (ceramic cartridge in a plastic case), while Danco may have "Plastic Plastic". Installed in minutes, the flow was gone from stock. And no squeaks!

Pros
  • Kit for easy and simple use
Cons
  • So far so good

Best to stop dripping in faucets

Just a tip based on my experience if you are doing the installation yourself. I used some sanitary silicone in the valve and on the cartridge itself. As I held the old cartridge and the new one side by side, I noticed that the new one is slightly longer than the original. I tightened the nut holding the cartridge and found the grip to be harder to turn on and off than before. So I removed the handle and loosened the nut a bit. The cartridge did not leak under the nut, and the handle moved more…

Install our old faucet!

Our old bathroom faucet doesn't have a factory label, so it was difficult to understand which cartridge to use? Bought this one by comparing the old one to the picture of this one. Not the perfect combination but I decided to give it a try. Doesn't it sit deep enough at first? Then, when I looked inside the faucet cartridge with a flashlight, I saw another small seal on the bottom. Once removed (the tiny seal also had a tiny spring attached) the new cartridge fits perfectly! No more drops. The…
