Not good for BBQ tool kits

Bought this because people said it would work in a Highland smokehouse. I used it for about 3-4 smokers and it came out of the firebox completely and the silicone melted. If you have this, buy something else for your smokehouse as it will not withstand higher temperatures.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Lots of seals for my two smokers.

15 feet was enough to seal the caps of my GMG smokers Davey Crockett and Jim Bowie. I have about 10 cm of caulk left. The RTV sealant was a bonus for sealing other areas of the smoker. Make sure the area you want to place is perfectly clean.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Some small things

Game Changer: Outdoor Grilling and Cooking

What a great product! I had problems with the temperature control on my WSM before I bought a gasket. It was easy to use and maintains a constant temperature while smoking. I'm not exaggerating, the difference between day and night was after I put this on. It's so close to install and forget how is that possible!

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine

If done right, it works.

After watching a lot of videos on how to do better, I turned to a cheap homemade smoker. Take your time and do it right and it will work, thoroughly clean/degrease all surfaces and allow proper curing time before using the smoker again. I went from losing smoke and heat around the door and top seam to no smoke except for the vent and my eating has improved greatly. I will buy again for the new better smoker I am picking up today.

Pros
  • understandable even for an old man
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Perfect Gasket for Ironwood 885

I used this gasket to seal the lid on my new Traeger Ironwood 885. The gasket is just the right thickness to seal the lid without mechanical smoker adjustments. And it's a good airtight seal, I have absolutely no smoke under the lid. Just remember that the surface has to be absolutely clean and free of grease in order for it to stick (I made the smoker when it was brand new, never used it). I highly recommend this product.

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Minor Issues

No gap is a good gap

I first used this in my Oklahoma Joe Highland smoking room. The gasket set is ideal (with little clearance) for both the smoke box and the firebox. The sealant is suitable for use both around the chimney and outside the firebox. Simple and easy to use if you've ever caulked a window or tub. It's messy but works great. Make sure your silicone bead is big enough to flatten with your finger after squeezing it out of the tube. If the bead (i.e. what you cut into the nozzle) is too small, it can get

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Too stupid
