Great Lead Came for Stained Glass Making!

Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice from Arts and Crafts courses, I was able to use the flat lead came with ease. It corrected the wavy lines in my design and gave a clean, seamless finish. The spool is generous, so I didn't feel the need to rush or worry about running out of the lead came. The only downside I experienced was that when the lead came is slightly bent in the spool, it can be a bit tricky to straighten out. Overall, it's a great investment for any stained glass maker.

Pros
  • Easy to work with due to flat shape
Cons
  • Limited flexibility compared to round lead came

Suitable for light, small projects.

This is normal. I will buy more when I run out. Rest assured this isn't really intended for strong, heavy glass projects.

Cons
  • unreliable

The Perfect Edge

I'm still a copper foil girl. But for some pieces I combine foil for the insides and lead for the outside hem to keep them looking professional and last for years. If I can work with decorative pieces of wire, all the better for added durability and added strength. For a 3 pound coil, I just lay it on my workbench and wrap the piece so the coil can easily slide to the desired length. How convenient!
