I really, really like using this paper. It has a really grainy texture, the leaves are WHITE (not that horrible purple hue that all unknown company watercolor discs seem to be these days), and it's just a joy to touch and use. It's intended for mixed media, so not quite a watercolor paper, but it holds up fairly well and the texture and quality of the paper really works in its favor. I'm relatively new to watercolor painting and bought these discs to paint with! Keep in mind that you actually get 12 pages per notebook, so 24 in total. Calling it 48 pages is only okay if you think of it as a book, as it only adds 48 pages if you use both pages (I use both pages , for the record). The paper weighs 140 pounds. I collect different papers to work with different art mediums as I develop new art styles. This set of pads seemed like a good idea to me. I'm so glad I got it. This is important because if it rains during shipping and you leave it wet until the box gets wet, at least your pads will be protected.
