Lee's 50/65 Premium UG Filter, 18 x 36 Inches - Ideal for SEO Review

I love that the size of the filters is perfect for our turtle tank; and that we could hook it up to our Fluval filter. I want the two parts of the filter to connect and the water to flow through the entire reservoir. We managed to get the water to enter one of the filters and then exit through the other; Hopefully this will keep her aquarium clean enough for her.

I like this filter even though it has two plates. Plates are strong but could be bigger. They leave a little more space on the sides and between the panels than we would like. I like beaded fins more than flat fins because they work well in both salt and fresh water. Upstream tubes could be a bit longer. They are too short for a larger tank. I used them in a 40 breeder, it's a short tank and I only had to trim a couple of inches.

I was wanting to use an under gravel system for my bow tank and after researching I would need to modify it to fit the footprint of the base on the ground. I didn't have a bandsaw so I had to tinker a little with a jigsaw. It really worked (was very slow), although not that easy to mark and track the lines to be cut. Filter set as described. I had to modify the plastic shell to fit my 36 gallon front tank. I used a band saw to cut the plastic shell and it worked fine. The strength of the plastic shell is very good, allowing precise and clean cuts without cracks or breaks. After I placed the modified bowl in my aquarium and connected the pump with the pressure head, the setup worked great. Can't comment on the charcoal cartridges that come with it as I don't use them, but they look good too.

In addition to canister and/or float filters for cichlids and other freshwater fish, I use UG filters with attachments. Lee's premium UG filters are great, but I don't really need all the parts to use them with an air pump. I wish these parts were optional and the price of the filter plates and risers were lower!
