Enhance and Replace Your Leviton 5249 CAP with a Top-quality Ring Assembly Review

This didn't match the thread I had but I figured it wouldn't fit based on my measurements. Still a fair bit and fills the hole.

Similar looks but smaller diameter than my 34 year old. Unfortunately, there is no model number on the existing socket for reference. Since the original cap is long gone, the only option is to purchase a complete socket.

This cap is too small for my outlet but I knew that when I ordered it. Since it's less than just 1/8 inch, it's inside the threaded part it's supposed to fit into. If I can find a replacement for the 2" cap I hid "in a safe place" 30 years ago, I will buy it.

These caps are oversized for this application. They're hard to find in a big store. The only flaw I found was that when you install it with a small O-ring on the lid, the lid is fully seated leaving a sharp edge protruding slightly from the surface of the box. Simply removing the O-ring helps.

I was disappointed that the previous owner left this outlet uncovered. Then one day I thought of checking on Revane. At first I thought I should buy the whole outlet. It was great to know that I can easily order a replacement cover. It fits and has changed my attitude for the better. Small details can change the rules of the game. This item is durable and includes two rubber O-rings. It's too small for the floor socket I bought it for. The lid does not screw into the container. The lid is large enough to "sit" in the socket and be flush with the floor. To take it out you have to press on one side to lift the other side to the left. I doubt it will hold liquids with this type of setup. I got it for child protection in the family room. So far, this is not a "nice annoyance". Check your measurements and good luck!
