Solid Blu-Ray recorder with support for BD-XL and M-DISC

The drive works well, relatively quietly. No interface issues with my Mac (OS 10.11) and Toast Titanium 15. Recording to M-DISC (BluRay and BD-XL) works well and hasn't caused any problems on about half a dozen discs so far. The drive isn't too sensitive to shock, but be careful not to bump into the drive itself while recording. When I did that (accidentally) it ruined the $20 M-DISC BD-XL. The pull out tray, rather than slot loading, is nice as it has a hole you can use to force eject ifโ€ฆ

FABULOUS PRODUCT!: External components

After getting a bad burner from another manufacturer, this Blu-ray burner was my lifesaver. It's fast, thin and easy to install. The included software is a bonus, as is the included blank Blu-ray disc. As always a great product from a trusted brand.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models

Perfect Portable Writer Disc

This disc is awesome! I don't use the included software at all, I just use the built in Windows burner to backup files and the free ImgBurn to burn any type of image. Since I've had it, I've burned hundreds of discs, often multiple discs in a row, and still haven't encountered any issues. I've burned 25GB Blu-ray, DVD and CD with no problems. This is a great drive to use for all the computers in my house, especially my current desktop which doesn't have optical drive slots in the case. My onlyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • I'm worried

Power Issue] Anything below good is still good. My problem described below appears to be related to a problematic USB stick that is unable to power the second required USB port. I have no idea why this would cause the drive to almost work (instead of not working at all) but plugged it directly into the power supply with a second USB to just try something and suddenly everything works again. - Original below - this all worked amazingly well for the first half year or so. Earlier drives and older

  • Long Wait

Fast, smooth and stable

Very happy with this drive. I have a major complaint that caused it to lose a star. It never occurred to me that drives are still built with trays. I thought they were all internal. That's my only negative about this drive. That makes the work difficult. Okay, I'll step off my soap dish and really tell you this. So he has a big tray, but still gets his work done quickly and efficiently, is very content and enjoys the suppleness. I'm hard of hearing and my wife is deaf so the walls can rattleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

stopped working after a year, I rarely used it.

Stopped working after a year, I rarely used it, I contacted LG support and all they had for this model is a question and answer with the main complaint being the same . Computer but not gaming? I have both Mac and Windows and it's plug and play so there are no drivers for it other than an internal player issue. too much money. I will keep my hands off LG products.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

Broke after about 10 months.

This drive has been running great for about 10 months. It stopped working around August 1st. I bought it from Revain on October 12, 2019. During that time I only used it occasionally. I have another drive that still works that I bought after about 3 or 4 years but it's a different brand. I finally have time to take a closer look tonight. I've tried this on both my Macintosh and my desktop PC and it just made weird noises. The Mac no longer recognizes it and the PC sees the drive but thinksโ€ฆ

inaccurate description

LG's website shows that this drive is connected to a TV (and they use the term "TV" in the picture). That's why I bought a drive to play Blu-ray discs with the drive mounted vertically. The LG TV didn't recognize the drive when I plugged it in (USB). I called LG support and they said the drive only connects to "monitors" and not TVs. I sent the CD back for a refund.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No performance
