root plug! Ideal!

I wish I had seen it all those years ago! Saves so much time and effort in preventing roots from coming back into your cut! Buy it if you have root containment issues :)

Dirt Backwash

Once installed, this unit is the last part of the filter that water goes through before re-entering the pond. With a diameter of 1 1/2 inches, the backflow from the biofilter into the pond is not significantly impeded. It's a serial stream and for my purposes it works as intended.

So I would personally recommend this product for use in combination with others.

Mine broke pretty quickly, but I'm sure it was due to misuse. Despite this, the item arrived exactly as described and appears to be quite well made. As you can see in the photo, the slits have a significant distance between them, so I personally recommend this product for use in combination with other filtering methods.
