False product advertising for sports water bottles

I ordered 2 rescue straws advertised to filter 4000 liters or 1000 gallons. I received 2 life straws that only filter 1000 liters or 264 gallons. This is a big difference in the amount of water they filter. False advertising.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Battle proven, safe and highly reliable filter!

I have used them in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Works as advertised. An extremely reliable and truly safe filtration system. We're now using it as an SOP so everyone has it in their backpack when we use it! Semper Fi.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Portability is good, but the fact that I can get it from my .

Portability is good, but the fact that I dropped it out of my mouth onto the countertop while blowing water from the hose and it stopped working is ridiculous. . Unless it withstands a blow, having it as the only source of water in the forest is dangerous. This bad rating is only because of that fact.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Easily repairable

264 gallon filters only making it really overpriced

I purchased LifeStraw on October 4th, 2018. I was disappointed upon receipt because the product packaging photo showed that Lifestraw filters up to 1000 gallons. I noticed that when ordering. The product description next to this photo (which I didn't realize before ordering) says it filters 792 gallons, while the packaging of the actual product I received says it filters 264 gallons. Also, no seller profile seems to be available at the moment. I will be more careful in future as this product…

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

The best alternatives on the market.

Get Sawyer-Mini. Seriously, I've used both on camping trips. You need steel jaws to suck the water out of the straw. With Sawyer or other pump/squeeze filters, you won't rip out seals trying to get water in. Also, you have to lie on the floor while the other filters come with collapsible bags AND a straw in case the bag breaks. Before everyone upvotes this post, you really need to watch real videos from people who use it regularly. Everyone is switching to filters with a pump or squeeze…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

I don't usually write reviews and I'm sorry that the first review was negative but the straw of life was a complete disappointment. I bought this for my daughter to take to Mexico with strict instructions not to drink anything unless it's through the straw of life. She would have died of dehydration if she had followed my instructions. We followed the instructions in the video to soak it before first use but couldn't get a single drop of water. By this point it was already too late (and before)

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Only available in black

Just as amazing as people have told you.

This is no joke! I took it on a hike through Maine's Bigelow Mountains. When I ran out of the water I had brought, I was fine with that. Just take a wide-mouth bottle to fill with whatever water you find. At the top of one of the lower peaks I drank from the disgusting looking crevice filled with brown scales (see photo). I thought it was safe but the taste is terrible. NOT CORRECT. TASTES LIKE FRESH SPRING WATER. Better than any faucet. I'm from Maine and have tasted a lot of mountain spring…

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Suitable for
