Great quality, hardware mounts would be good for the price.

Doesn't include any hardware while it does what it's supposed to do. I had to melt the ice in the drain in 24 hours. You have to wait for the ice to melt to install it properly. Clamp set and temperature control plug must be ordered separately.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other picks

Not a roof grab, but a gutter

I gave it a 4 because I haven't used/connected it yet. I ran it through the gutter supports and downspout of my house. installed new gutters, said it would work just as well as looping cables up and down the room. The overall quality of the cable appears to be good.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • No

Very Inexpensive Self-Regulating Heating Cable

At about a dollar a foot, you can't fault this cable. This winter will show how well that works. I will update my review if this is the case. The seller will offer a warranty upgrade if you leave a good rating. All I can say is that the cable looks high quality and well packaged.

Pros
  • Great Design
Cons
  • Some Difficulties

Looks like a good product so foam

I used this in my car wash attic to keep the low pressure lines from freezing. I like that it has such a durable finish. Just in case I have a leak for some reason. I can be sure that the cable will not be damaged. I've only had him for a few weeks. Temperatures are in the single digits most nights and there are no frozen utility lines.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Not bad

This is not a KIT! suitable for canopies

Cable looks good. Haven't used it yet but I'm deducting 2 stars because it's not a SET. It's a cable! Hey H&G lifestyle! A set would be nice but at least tell me I need to buy hardware to use this as described! I'm also concerned that it got very hot when I plugged it in as the temp. is over 60 degrees. I hope it's just because it's twisted. If it doesn't adjust itself after installing I will reset more stars.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Defective

Effectively melts snow and travels a long distance.

So far, so good. The length, foldability and suitability of this line for different surfaces/materials was just what I needed. Up a two-story chute, a long chute, along a wall and in an awkward corner of a flat rubber roof, zigzag back and forth, then run around a corner and down another chute. Ideal. We've had a few inches of snow so far; Plugged it in and everything melted and stopped the water from flowing.

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Skip those "auto adjusters " activated at 60 degrees

Specs look good but auto adjusters don't work. It's designed to turn on at 50°, where there's no point in starting. Mine stepped just below 60°. The idea of just leaving them plugged in doesn't make sense, think how many days between 32°-50° in winter there is no reason to leave them running, even at reduced power. I'm in the Michigan snow belt and there's still no reason to ride them as often as the manufacturer intended. So the end result is that you now turn them on and off manually.

Pros
  • Stable results in testing
Cons
  • Updates

Great for protecting my water line from freezing.

I have an RV with a standard garden hose connection to the water supply. You can spend over $125 on a heated hose that may or may not work very well, or have a cheap hose that fails and does not protect the filter or fittings from freezing. Or you can use this heating cable and some insulation and wrap your own hose and filter and it just works. I will say that after a few hours the water in the hose gets quite warm. So if you need cold water, you have to run it until the hot water runs out. I…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
