Lifetime 9594 Universal Mounting Kit Review

Good mount and a must when buying a lifetime sign. The instructions are pretty easy to follow (I've seen others have had some issues, but Lifetime must have solved it). The hardware is pretty solid and ends up being a solid assembly. Mounting to the wall of an old garage where the walls aren't perfectly vertical and the posts are 16 inches off-center presents some challenges, but that's true of any bracket. Since the siding has a zigzag overlap, you cannot mount the brackets flush with the siding as this will cause them to lean against the siding slope and throw everything off at an angle. After reading several reviews (both good and bad) I finally ordered this product as it was the most I was willing to spend on a roof mount for my basketball hoop. OK - here's my 2 cents!1 - This product DOES NOT include roof mounting screws. The instructions clearly state that there are no screws included. It actually makes sense since the manufacturer doesn't know if you're going to mount it in wood, metal or tile, so it didn't bother me. $3 screws at the local hardware store was all I needed.

With this kit you get a lot of quality parts at a great price. I found the instructions and pictures clear enough so the company probably listened to the reviewers and improved the instructions. I made a wall mount in my garage and installed a Lifetime 73729 shield and rim combo with a steel frame that attaches very securely to the mounting kit with 1/2" screws. I give two stars because it does what it promises. But I had two pretty serious problems. First I bought these two backrest brackets on the wall in the shed. It works out. However, the back panel is quite wobbly due to the mounting system. It would be better if I could just nail the sign to the wall. I didn't do this because most modern shields are made of acrylic. But this definitely has some backplate wobble when fully installed and tightened. The bigger problem is that the instructions are…
